Companions are the characters who accompany the Girl on her journey through wonderland. Think of the Cheshire Cat in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland or the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. They help the Girl find her way in this strange land, and are often on a journey of their own.
In Girl Underground, there are three starter Companion playbooks:
- The Beastie, a talking animal
- The Construct, a handmade person brought to life
- The Ogre, a friendly giant
There are also Companion playbooks still in development, which may or may not be included in the first release of Girl Underground:
- The Faun, a half-human hybrid
- The Mythic, a legendary flying beast
- The Runaway, a lost child who made their home here
